Collection: Andrea Lavery
Andrea's lifelong dream was to become a professional artist. She grew up in rural Newtown Connecticut surrounded by nature. Andrea started drawing at a very young age and spent many hours outdoors exploring her surroundings and capturing it on paper. She was fortunate to have a family that fully supported and encouraged her to follow those dreams. Andrea received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Paier Colleger of Art in Hamden Connecticut in 1985. Following graduation Andrea worked for local design and marketing agencies as an art director, designer, and a freelance comp artist. She took a break from her career to focus on raising her family. Finding her passion to paint again in 2012, Andrea began with small format art. These small works allowed her to start and finish a painting in a relatively small amount of time. Over the past few years Andrea has developed an impressionistic style that is contemporary and fresh. With bold brushstrokes and expressive texture she creates colorful and engaging works of art. Her artwork is in numerous private collections throughout the United States and internationally. She has also created many commissioned works of art. Andrea currently lives and paints by the shoreline in Connecticut with her husband Brian of 28 years and her two children Ben and Maggie.
